Forehead Lift / Browlift / Transblepharoplasty
Problem:
- Frown lines between eyebrows
- Horizontal lines and furrows across forehead
- Sagging, drooping brows
Solution:
A forehead lift or “browlift” is a surgical procedure that corrects drooping brows and improves the horizontal lines and furrows on the forehead that occur over time. Most often an outpatient procedure performed under local or general anesthesia, browlift requires that the muscles and tissues are surgically removed through a hairline incision (coronal incision technique) or a less invasive endoscope (a surgical telescope).
For Elk Grove Village / Arlington Heights brow lift patients who only need a small amount of temporal brow lift, a transblepharoplasty browlift implant may be used. This relatively new device is used to lift brows through a traditional eyelid crease incision, which avoids the potentially visible incision on the forehead used in traditional brow lifts. The implant absorbs into the body by about seven months. By this time, the body will have healed and scarred into the new, elevated position. (Note: Botox® injections may offer a non-surgical solution for less severe cases).
Result:
- Minimize and soften lines on forehead
- Smoother forehead skin
- Slightly raised eyebrows
- Refreshed, more youthful look above the eyes
